Good genetics are big advantage for bodybuilders, but hard work always plays role, most bodybuilders work very hard on their physique but genetics wont help them out they have bigger size but not good conditioning. You can see all Mr Olympia winners from 1965 to 2012 they all have good conditioning and muscularity, that's why people called Phil Heath "The Gift" but he is extremely hard worker too, that's why he is our latest Mr Olympia.
